Android 1.5 SDK Released

The next update of the mobile phone OS Android will be version 1.5, and more details about what features it will contain are beginning to become clear.  Google, which is still in charge of the project, has just released the Software Development Kit with updates expected to feature in the next version of Android, currently codenamed Cupcake.

Several changes are on the horizon, including the ability to record video, and import content directly to YouTube and Picasa, both services owned by Google.  A virtual keyboard is also set to be added, in both landscape or portrait orientations. 

The web browser will also be updated, and should be faster thanks to the addition of a new JavaScript engine.
