Android hunting on Windows 7 territory

Windows 7 from Microsoft, expected in January 2010, could soon be dealing with an ambitious competitor. The collaborative system from Google, known as Android, could soon be used in notebooks and netbooks.

This news comes from the Wall Street Journal: HP, world number one for computers, has confirmed it will be testing Android on its portable machines. Dell is reported to be doing the same.

It must be said that the OS Android has a very good argument in its favour: it’s free! No license to pay, a light, evolving and flexible system, all advantages that may well persuade manufacturers to give it a try.

Some mobile telephone manufacturers such as HTC are already using Android and there is no reason why the rest of the IT world should not follow suit.
