The Zi8 is Kodak's chance to include a 1080p Full HD camcorder in its range of pocket camcorders, allowing you to film very high quality video and distribute it easily on the web.  How does it compare to the big guns though?

The Kodak Zi8 is one of the first pocket camcorders that can film in 1080p Full HD.  It has a large 2.5'' screen, a mic input and a macro mode.  Your video is recorded on an SDHC card, which is now a very common format.

The explosion in this market has been propelled by the growing popularity of online video HD.  A pocket camcorder is a cost-effective way of replacing a traditional full-sized camcorder for basic tasks like video blogging.  But without a zoom, a very narrow angle of view and reduced sensitivity limit its uses in other fields.
