This is our first look at the famous camcorder with interchangeable lenses, the Sony NEX-VG10.  It uses the same E-mount lenses as the manufacturer's digital cameras, which gives it a manual, old-fashioned feel.

The hallmark of the video it produces is a very small depth of field, something that Sony was inspired to imitate after the success of the Canon EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR with film-makers seeking the look.  But will that  be enough to win over more users?
