Just a few hours before the opening of CES 2011, Samsung has unveiled its plans to offer a transparent 19'' display with a resolution of 4K!

Some lucky visitors will get a chance to pick up the wafer-thin display that measures nineteen inches from one corner to the other and also boasts a 4K resolution.  That's 3840 x 2160 pixels, four times larger than Full HD at 1920 x 1080 pixels.

To manufacture its new screen, Samsung has relied on a transparent AMOLED display. Every sub-pixel is a different coloured diode (red, green or blue) which emits its own light, and so when the diodes are switched off, rather than dropping to black, they let light through, meaning you can see straight through.
