First Canon camera of 2010 in the Face-Off: Ixus 130 vs Sony WX1

The Ixus 130 really caught our attention: it's thin and stylish and one of the most attractive little cameras we've seen amongst the new models for this year.  Luckily, it's also the first of Canon's 21010 cameras that we'll be testing.

If you're looking forward to the test, you'll have to wait a little while, as tomorrow we'll be publishing a duel between two digital SLRs.  In the meantime, though, we've added it to the Product Face-Off.  To start with, we've put it up against the Sony WX1, another little gem which scored five stars when we tested it.

We last looked at in September 2009, but WX1 hasn't yet been replaced by an updated model, making it one of the Ixus 130's main competitors this spring.  It has Sony's new CMOS Exmor R sensor, which is much more sensitive in poor lighting conditions.  The WX1 has several other strengths, including a 5x wide-angle zoom and 720p video.
