Whatever the next generation of the iPhone is called--the 4G, as some have suggested, or the HD--we already know a lot about it after a prototype which was left in a bar in San Francisco found its way into the hands of tech site Gizmodo.
Just a few months before Apple is set to launch its new phone, photos of the early prototype are already all over the web.
Rumours circulated for days that the handset, which was disguised as an iPhone 3G S, was a trial version of Apple's new iPhone 4G. No doubt the team at Cupertino are thrilled ...
The new phone has a camera with a more powerful sensor, a built-in flash, a front-facing camera for video calls and a micro-SIM slot (!). Aluminium is back for the edges, while the back is finished in ceramic. Has Apple already given up on its incredibly successful unibody concept?
So is it real? Well, we weren't convinced by the look, but after Apple wrote to Gizmodo asking for it back, that pretty much confirmed the handset really was a replacement for the iPhone 3G S.
Between now and June, we're sure we'll hear a little bit more about Apple's next baby ...
