Lexmark told us that 'everybody's been asking for a 4-in-1 printer that's cheaper than the Platinum Pro 905.' Well, it looks like they're going to get what they want with the new Pinnacle Pro901, which will be coming on to the market soon.
It's a carbon copy of the Pro905, but without the second paper drawer. Everything else is the same, so you can enjoy the fax machine, large touchscreen and online functions via the built-in Internet connection. Most importantly, though, you can still print for less than one penny a page if you stick to black-and-white. That's cheaper than all of its inkjet competitors, and less than you'll pay even with a laser printer in the same price range.
Lexmark's next task is going to be working on the price. The Pinnacle Pro901 will be going on sale for around £299, which doesn't make it that much more attractive than the model it's supposed to be offering a cheaper alternative to.
