Ultimate Ears earphones generally fall into three categories: Metro.Fi, Super.Fi and Triple.Fi. However, Logitech sometimes likes to surprise us with special editions.

Generally speaking, models in the Super and Triple ranges are higher quality than the entry-level Metro, which are designed to deliver decent-quality sound at a reasonable price. However, not long after Ultimate Ears was bought by Logitech, the Ultimate Ears 700 popped up out of the blue and refused to fit into any of the three pre-existing ranges.

For the moment, there's not much information available about the upcoming 200, 350 and 500 earphones. From the first photos, they look like classic in-ear earphones, although the 500 look shaped to fit deeper in the ear.

Spec may be thin on the ground, but prices have already been announced:
  • $29.99 for the 200
  • $49.99 for the 350
  • $69.99 for the 500
The 200 and 500 will also be available in a 'vi' mobile-phone-compatible version, complete with remote control and microphone, for an extra $10.

These new models are scheduled for US release in September, but with no word European release or pricing yet, it looks like we could be waiting a while before we see them over here.
