During September, manufacturer Medion promises to bring us three new GPS systems. Their new collection will set itself apart from current models with new large 5" screens (12.7 cm).All three use a SiRF Titan InstantFix II chip to speed up geolocalization. They ship with a large collection of maps for Europe, covering 39 countries, speed camera locations and a Text-to-Speech system to read street names. Security is assured by fingerprint detection across all three models.
- The GoPal P5235 only receives limited life traffic information for some main roads, and should retail for around 299 euros (roughly 430 USD / 240 GBP)
- The GoPal P5435 has much more complete traffic information from V-Trafic's Traffic Message Channel. It will be around 349 euros (roughly 500 USD / 280 GBP)
- Finally, the GoPal X5535 offers the same features as the P5435, but also features a gyroscope that allows it to continue offering information if the GPS signal is briefly lost - in a tunnel, for instance. This model will retail for 449 euros (roughly 650 GBP / 360 GBP)
