In the wake of a recent announcement that the next version of its operating system will bear the simple moniker Windows 7, Microsoft has unveiled a new Windows 7 Blog for Developers. The new blog complements the existing Engineering Windows 7 blog, where the emphasis is on more general aspects of the next iteration of the company's OS and discussions with users.
In some ways, the earlier blog is an interaction in between software developers and the general public, whereas its new counterpart is best described as by developers for developers, with a firm focus on changes to the Windows API for version 7.
As the first posting makes it clear, "If you are looking to write some code using one of Windows 7 new features, you should find some reference to that topic in this blog."
Admittedly, the content of this blog is unlikely to interest the majority of Vista uses, but it's another sign that Microsoft is stepping up its efforts on the next version of its OS.
