More news on the Asus 23-inch 3D monitor

A little over a month ago, Asus announced the upcoming launch of two new 120 Hz monitors, compatible with NVIDIA’s 3D technology. Asus has one 23" and one 27" monitor in the pipeline, and we’ve managed to get hold of a bit more information about the 23" model.

Until now, the only information we had about Asus’ forthcoming 23-inch display was its name (the VG236H), its resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), and its response time (2 ms). We can now add a few more details to that scanty list.

The VG236H 23" monitor has a height-adjustable stand that’s mounted on a rotating base. It has a DVI Dual Link entry, which is essential for compatibility with both 120 Hz and 3D. It also has an HDMI socket. Finally, the screen finish looks like it’s going to be glossy, and therefore not matte like the majority of 120 Hz monitors already on the market.

We’ve also learned that it will be available as the VG236H standard version or with the Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision Kit as the VG236HE.

All that’s missing now is its price and release date. In any case, given that Asus should be sending us a model to test in June, we can guess at a release date sometime this summer.
