More space for photos with Sony's new digiframes

Sony has announced a digital photo frame that will be able to store up to 4000 pictures. A significant increase in internal memory that should please many.

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was the opportunity for Sony to announce its new S-Frames. These will feature panels ranging from 8 to 10 inches and hit the shops by the end of April.

While the top-end DPF-X1000 model features 2 GB of internal memory, the other three have 1 GB.
At the moment frames seldom go beyond a capacity of 128 MB, though you can find some with 512 MB. This might seem enough, but as cameras are offering higher definition, the size of pictures increases too.

The lack of space on frames is quite a common complaint among users. Once the internal memory is full, you have to resort to memory cards or USB sticks.

In order to find your way easily among these large quantities of pictures, Sony gives the possibility of Search by date, folder, marked photos or photo orientation.
The DPF-X1000 will be the company’s first frame to offer clear LCD and TruBlack technology, which is meant to minimize the reflection on the display and add more contrast.
