MicroSD slot

Players often separate the contents of the internal memory and that of the card (with Creative's Zen X-Fi, you cannot navigate by tag on the card). Here the library mixes all the files together, and an icon tells you where they are stored. If only other companies would take note….

Sandisk’s comeback with the Fuze and Clip was one not to be missed. Let us check their third product, the View.

Handling

Remember the Fuze? Well, make it bigger and you get the View. The buttons and the interface are the same with an overall iPod Classic-like design. The display is bigger, but don’t expect to watch a feature film on it.
There is little in the box: bad earphones, a proprietary USB, an unnecessary CD and instructions. No pouch however to protect the device.

There is a micro-SD port on the right side of the player while the on/ff switch and a microphone are on the left. The bottom part has the mini jack for the earphones and a USB port. (The Sansa View supports both MTP and UMS).
Glossy finish and no cover? Beware of scratches! The back part has a nice rubbery feel that makes it easy to hold.

Sound quality

The Clip was fantastic sound quality in a device the size of a matchbox, the Fuze was good too; the View is a bit behind but still in the top end. Nothing to report on settings which are very much the same ones you get on their other products.
Video is just a gimmick here but viewing photos is a treat thanks to the size of the screen.

The Fuze & Clip had us raving but we are not as enthusiastic about the View which –despite its name- remains mainly an audio player. Still, it is an excellent product.

The View is the Fuze's bigger brother . An excellent product, we just wish it had more features.
