LG's second Android smartphone is called the GT540 or Swift. Designed for the general consumer looking for a multimedia oriented phone, it gives simplified access to social networking sites.
This mid-range touch phone is equipped with a 3 inch (320x480) screen and a glossy shell.
Like any good Android, the GT540 offers direct access to all Google services (Gmail, Gtalk, Search, Maps, Android Market, Youtube) and also offers rapid access to your favourite social networking sites via an SNS Manager. Is integration and synchronisation between Twitter, Facebook, and messaging apps as advanced as on the Mororola Motoblur or the new interface on the Samsung Bada OS? It's too early to tell.
On the spec side, the GT540 has a 3 Mpixel camera with autofocus, memory extendable up to 32 GB via MicroSD, DivX and WMV compatibility for playing video, a radio receiver with RDS and a standard audio jack.
It has been announced for May and should come in at under £300 (stand alone price).
