After the announcement of its super high-contrast 42PFL9803H last month, Philips has unveiled a TV from its Aurea range which uses the same Ambilight technology.
It's the 42PFL9903H, and will replace an older model, the 42PFL9900D, which was starting to look old without a built-in digital tuner.
This new model solves that problem, and adds several new features too, including a dynamic contrast score which we're promised will be in the region of 30 000:1.
Careful readers will have guessed it already, but this is a TV that's lit by a tube, not by LED.
It seems we're going to have to wait until the next generation to see OLED technology in action with Philips.
Arriving sooner will be our tests of these new models, though, which will be with at the end of next month.
