New Test: Four Internal Hard Drives

Four new internal hard drives have just gone through our lab, and we took the opportunity to update our testing procedure.  We now also examine local and distant copying within the same partition as well as the launch time for a series of applications.

Today, we're publishing the following tests today:

• Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5 TB

• Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1 TB--an expanded version of the Spinpoint F1 HD753LJ

• Western Digital Caviar Green 1 TB--a 4500 rpm drive

• Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB
  

We'll be adding some new models soon, including the Samsung EcoGreen, which spins at 5400 rpm.
