Readers Write: Are you going to test the new 27'' iMac?

Hello,

I've been able to read a little bit about the new 27'' iMacs here and there, but so far I've only been able to find tests on dedicated Apple sites, which I don't find as trustworthy as yours.

I would love to hear what you think of these models, and in particular what you think of the display and how quiet they are to run.  At the moment I'm torn between a new iMac and an equivalent PC with a 27'' display like the Iiyama 2712 HDS or the new Samsung 2770HD.

First of all: thank you and sorry. Thank you for trusting us to do this test properly, and sorry it's taken us so long. To tell you the truth, we've had the 27'' iMac in a corner of our lab for a long time, but we just haven't got round to testing it.



With the new year come new year's resolutions, of course, so we are going to try to stick to ours and publish things on time.  We're even prepared to pile on the pressure and say it will be ready next weekend.  It's about time to stop staring at ourselves in the glossy display and get some work done then!
