The TomTom XXL IQ Routes Europe Edition is exactly the same as the TomTom One IQ Routes Edition that we've already tested. It has two main differences:

  • The screen size has increased to 5 inches (12.7 cm), compared with 4.3 inches (10.9 cm) for the TomTom XL and 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) for the TomTom One. It goes without saying that the larger screen is more pleasant to use and easier to read. It does, however, make the device a little larger, and it certainly won't fit in every pocket.

  • It has maps of Europe rather than just UK & ROI.

For the rest, we recommend you take a look at our test of the TomTom One IQ Routes.
Pluses

-

Easy to use

-

IQ Routes very useful for city driving

-

Small, practical suction mount

-

Very big, easy-to-read screen

Minuses

-

The GPS sensor can sometimes be slow to start up

This is a must-have sat nav for the regular driver. Plus, its IQ Routes feature is the ideal companion for city driving. However, those of you who live in your cars will probably want to go for a model with 'Live' services for real-time traffic tracking.
