Slowly but surely, screen prices are falling

So you've got a £125 to spend, but what kind of monitor do you want?  A 19'', a 20'', a 22'' or even a 23''?  They're all available for roughly the same price--the only thing that's different is the resolution.

19'' screens are 1440 pixels wide, while 20'' monitors often display 1600 pixels, with 22'' monitors reaching 1680 pixels with 23'' monitors at 1920 x 1080 pixels.  That said, they nearly all come with 5 ms TN panels, with rather average colour handling and very narrow viewing angles.  You're lucky to get anything other than a simple analogue VGA input, which will usually be enough for most graphics cards and laptops.  That general description is roughly what the Acer X233HB offers you.

Adding a DVI input isn't necessarily an expensive luxury though, as this model shows:
