Apple’s autumn press conference is just a few weeks away and rumours are running rife on the possibility of an announcement on an internet tablet. The tablet is likely to be announced in January 2010 for a release in June.iLounge have just given us the scoop (according to a source very close to Apple): the Apple tablet looks very much as if it's on its way. The mass arrival of these new linked-up touch screens has been much talked about by the specialists recently: Apple, arch trend-setter that it is, couldn’t let such an object pass it by.

According to iLounge, the Apple model is reported to have a 10.7 inch screen for maximum comfort and legibility of the digital press.
The product (no surprises here) is to be based on iPhone OS and looks as if it will be available in two verions, one with 3G networking and one without.
