Sony may have sold its shares in the S-LCD joint screen production facility to partner Samsung, but the firm will still be loading its 2012 TVs with PVA screen panels.
Sony Bravia KDL-46HX750
Sony and Samsung have come up with a strategic agreement to keep Sony's TVs supplied with PVA panels.
PVA screens deliver the highest contrast ratios of all current LCD panels (with CCFL or Edge LED backlighting). Plus, more recent models come with factory-calibrated colours and have some of the lowest ghosting times around.
The upcoming generation of PVA screens should prove better than any of the IPS or MVA screens we've tested to date, both in terms of image quality and ghosting in games and fast-action scenes.
