With a PC

Like most current models, this Regza XV515DG can serve as a monitor for your PC. Connected in 1920x1080 in HDMI, reactivity is good although there is a slight "black ghosting" effect.
Native resolution works quite well if we take the time to change the display mode to "Real format" or "Native".
Native resolution works quite well if we take the time to change the display mode to "Real format" or "Native".
This television is the 42” version of the 37”, the Regza 37XV515DG, which we tested.
Characteristics, the panel and circuitry are identical and only brightness may vary slightly which minimally affects contrast. According to manufacturers (and our tests confirm), results from one diagonal size can easily be extrapolated to identical models of bigger or smaller sizes.
The larger size of this version will accentuate the lack of sharpness with SD sources (TV, Wii type consoles, DVDs, etc.) that we saw on the 37 inch. However, this defect will still be visible. For the rest, this TV is rather good and there is an HD digital tuner which will make it ready for receiving programs transmitted in late 2008.

-

Minuses
-
SD rescaling lacks sharpness
