Whatever happened to Garmin's Nüviphone?

After months and months of silence, Garmin has finally released some more information regarding the Nüviphone, a smartphone featuring a personal navigator system (GPS).
The following pictures clearly indicate that the new handset will be relying on Garmin's proprietary OS.

Sadly it's been over a year now since the device was first announced and the Nüviphone has yet to hit the stores. One thing is sure though, by the end of the week with CES 2009 opening in Las Vegas , there should be more news…
