Test and analysis
ArmA 2 is a first person shooting game (FPS) with single and multi-player modes. It has a particularly demanding graphics rendering engine and requires plenty of resources.

For the test, we moved around in a specific way on an area covered with vegetation. The results are calculated in images per second, so high is good.

Whether we use our entry-level or our high-end machine, whatever the quantity of RAM, acceleration or loading of the display in ArmA 2 can only be improved via the processor and graphics card.

Here are the results that we obtained on our entry-level machine, then on our high-end machine.

Entry-level machine (Core 2 Duo) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
Average speed in frames per second: high is good

High-level machine (Core i7) - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Average speed in frames per second: high is good

Now here’s the load time of a game:

Entry-level machine (Core 2 Duo) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

Load time in seconds: low is good

High-level machine (Core i7) - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Load time in seconds: low is good
