Test and analysis
Video encoding again but this time we're encoding an HD 1080p video taken from a Blu-ray using codec x264.

For this, we use the Handbrake graphics interface which allows you to easily refine different encoding settings.

On our entry-level machine, with 2 GB of RAM you lose a few seconds here.

The trend isn't the same with a faster processor: the differences are then very small.

Here are the results that we obtained on our entry-level machine, then on our high-end machine.

Entry-level machine (Core 2 Duo) - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

Rendering time in seconds: low is good

High-level machine (Core i7) - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Rendering time in seconds: low is good
